How did it go?
Well, we had over 200 entries submitted via social media, including a few videos! And so began the difficult task of trying to pick a winner. There were some great entries, so first we narrowed it down to a short-list of 45 pictures. Then, after much debate, we narrowed down the field even further and picked a winner.
It wasn't easy. The judging panel carefully considered the entries, selecting a short-list that captured the various aspects of University Life at the University of Chester. This varied from attending social events and nights outs, to sharing moments with your friends and experiencing everything the University and the city has to offer.
The winning image and description we felt represented time outside of academic studies that captured the essence of contentment within university life, shared with best friends whilst having fun and enjoying the tranquil beauty of the River Dee.

What happened next?
Well the great thing is that, #captureuoc has started to be used by our students beyond its original purpose! Even though the competition has finished, students continue to use it as a means to share their experiences of Chester. Although we didn't expect this to happen, it’s great to see how much our students appear to be enjoying their time at the University and how much they’re getting out of the whole experience.
So, with the third year of our annual photo competition now at an end, all that’s left for me to say is: keep snapping and capture your time!
